“So, I’ve been thinking about this whole being happy thing, and I feel like people get lost when they think of happiness as a destination.
We’re always thinking that someday we’ll be happy; we’ll get that car or that job or that person in our lives that’ll fix everything. But happiness is a mood,…
some people really don’t know how hard it is to have a job dealing with customer service. for some reason yesterday it was one thing after another after another. so when you buy food from a different store in the food court and ask me if you can have a cup of water or napkins or utensils, i’m going to say no because you didn’t buy anything from our place. i know it’s not that big of a deal and it’s not going to hurt if we give it to them but it just gets annoying and then they’ll keep coming back if you do give in. &water ain’t free everywhere and i learned that in Italy, even tap water isn’t served to you while you’re dining in restaurants; water has to be bought or you bring your own in. tired of these customers asking for things when they know they didn’t buy anything at our store. oh, especially when people ask if we have soy sauce! like seriously, just cause we a bunch of asians that are selling food, don’t mean we have soy sauce. if you look at our food choices, it’s cajun/southern. come on people. then later that day, another customer bought food for her and her friend that totaled to be almost $16. she asked for a sweet tea/lemonade mix and when she tried it, she said it was too tart and asked if i only put in lemonade. i told her i mixed it as she asked and she then wanted to change it entirely to a coke. her friend had said something and the same girl said, “we gave them $16 to their business, you can patronize them all you want. they need to stop being so disrespectful.” the second i heard that i said, ” i don’t see how i’m disrespecting you” and she immediately tried to make me look stupid and say she wasn’t talking about me. oh okay, act stupid and act like i didn’t hear you and wasn’t going to say anything. that was the most disrespectful thing i’ve ever heard and it was the last straw. i know my family and i do not work for 12 hours straight just to serve people like that just to be patronized. bitch lucky i didn’t spill her damn drink on her. and really, she could’ve had her $16 back cause it would have made no difference. ugh, can’t believe people have the audacity to even say things like that. lastly, i hate it when people who work at the mall come buy food just to get a mall discount. this one girl buys a meal that totaled to $5.40 after tax and while she was ordering her food, she kept asking if she could get a mall discount and my sister told her only if you buy over $5.50 (before tax) worth of food. so she gets to the cashier, asks for a drink but says she doesn’t want it anymore because it’s too expensive then proceeds to ask for a discount (again). i said no because her total is $5.40 after tax and she asks if she could just give me a dime and still get the mall discount. like wtf.. were we not clear or is this girl stupid. i told her no, and that she had to spend over $5.50 BEFORE tax and she just looked at me… keep in mind that the mall discount is less than 10%. this gets on my nerves because i bet if i walk into their store and buy something, i wouldn’t be able to get any discount at all just because i work at the mall. this just makes me think some people are just so damn cheap. it’s not easy nor is it cheap keeping up a restaurant. some of the things you run into in businesses like these, it’s just so hard to overlook. most of the time i’m just [literally] shaking my head at these people because it just amazes me at how people treat others and by what they say.
